Customer Giving Campaign Adds Up to $1.3 Million

Tampa-based Amscot Financial, a leading provider of convenient, consumer-oriented financial services, conducts a month-long customer giving campaign called ‘Just a Dollar’ in its nearly 240 retail branches in 21 school districts throughout their Central and South Florida service territory.

The program, which asks customers to donate $1, benefits local teachers and students through their local education foundation by providing targeted support beyond what public school budgets provide. Amscot Financial matches the first $10,000 in customer contributions for each campaign.

“We conduct this campaign because our generous customers want to make a difference in the lives of children in their community,” said Ian MacKechnie, founder and CEO of Amscot Financial. “Everyone sees the importance of investing in their local students and is eager to give back. It’s up to the community to help fill in the gaps where tax dollars and school budgets don’t fully meet the students’ needs.”

Now in its second decade, Amscot Financial’s ‘Just a Dollar’ campaign has cumulatively raised more than $1.3 million benefitting students. School supplies, teacher resource stores and resources for homeless students are all examples of how funds are used to meet local needs.
