FPL Supercharges STEM Learning with $1 Million in Classroom Makeover Grants

As part of its 100th anniversary celebration, Florida Power & Light Company expanded its STEM Classroom Makeover Grant program—awarding $1 million in grants to 20 deserving Florida schools. Each school received $50,000 to transform traditional classrooms into innovative STEM learning environments filled with hands-on technology and resources. Below is the full list of this year’s grant recipients.

The 2024 grant recipients were:

  • Coquina Elementary and Port Malabar Elementary (Brevard)
  • Hallandale Magnet High and Sawgrass Springs Middle (Broward)
  • Bellview and Sherwood Elementary (Escambia)
  • Hialeah Gardens Senior High and Miami Norland Senior High (Miami-Dade)
  • Nassau County School District, Choctawhatchee High (Okaloosa)
  • Robert H. Jenkins Elementary (Putnam)
  • Avalon Middle (Santa Rosa)
  • Alta Vista Elementary (Sarasota)
  • R.J. Murray Middle (St. Johns)
  • Banyan Creek Elementary, Inlet Grove Community High, Pine Jog Elementary, Roosevelt Community Middle (Palm Beach)
  • Kate M. Smith Elementary (Washington)
