During literacy month, several members of the Consortium of Florida Education Foundation members are hosting events to expand horizons through reading. As a Regional Partner of the New Worlds Reading Initiative, we are helping Florida’s young readers become stronger, more confident learners. The New Worlds Reading Initiative delivers FREE books straight to eligible VPK-5th grade students’ homes every month. These books, tailored to each child’s interests, come with fun activities that caregivers and kids can enjoy together—sparking a lifelong love of reading. Plus, books and materials are available in English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Braille!
Administered by the UF Lastinger Center for Learning and supported by the Florida Department of Education and Scholastic, New Worlds Reading is more than just books—it’s about creating a vibrant community of support for Florida’s striving readers. From engaging events to teacher professional development, this program is equipping families and educators with the tools to make a real impact. Together, we can turn the page to a world of possibilities.
